My Top Ten “Must Have” List at 15 Weeks
In no particular order, here are my top ten things I would not want to live without right now:
- Body Shop’s Mango Body Butter, for all those dry (and stretching!) areas
- Pillows. Lots of pillows! I had my first great night’s sleep last night in a while because I added an extra pillow.
- Peter Gillingham’s Natural Vitality ‘Calm’ Magnesium drink. I’m using the since discontinued “Mama Calm”. Great for sleep, magnesium helps in calcium absorption plus keeps those systems moving (if you know what I mean).
- A new bra. I mean a really good bra from a maternity shop. I just had a custom fitting. Let’s just say I had outgrown my daily bra… by two cup sizes. No wonder I was so miserable walking around!
- A sleep bra.
- Food! High protein snacks, especially around bed time.
- A glass of water and box of crackers at your bedside table. Thanks Tera for the tip! It still comes in handy!
- Comfy tops. Especially in summer!
- Lots of supportive girlfriends who have been through this before to remind you that the books are not all right (and to suggest some really great alternatives, thanks Devon T!), and to laugh and cry with you through the whole process.
- And finally, a great and supportive husband who brings home queso or Sonic shakes or whatever the weird request is, who also laughs and cries with you (but mostly laughs) through the whole process.
Today’s Top Ten
As a fan of Top Ten lists, I have decided to use them in this blog.
Today’s Top Ten list is Top Ten Things NOT To Do When You Are Pregnant:
- Get a new haircut.
- Go without a bra.
- Go anywhere without taking food with you, even if it is just a granola bar (or two).
- Ask other mothers about their childbirth experiences. (Don’t worry, they will volunteer this information).
- Pat someone on the head after they rub your belly bump. They don’t get the joke.
- Try to learn a new language. I am having enough issues with English right now as it is…
- “Push through” those overly tired times. Just nap already.
- Believe everything you think. Your mind is playing tricks on you. Mean and evil tricks. And it lies.
- Get a new haircut. Serious enough to add twice.
- Think you are an expert when you are only three months into your first pregnancy.
